Terms & Conditions

1. What this service is
This is a free, browser-based utility that removes the background from images. Processing runs on your own device using WebGPU or WebAssembly. The service is provided as-is, on a best-effort basis, with no guarantee of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
2. No account, no fees
There is no account, no subscription, and no payment. There is also no daily quota and no credit system. The practical limits of the tool come from your own hardware — chiefly the amount of memory a browser tab can use — and these are described on the home page.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the images you process. Because your images are never transmitted to us, we never receive them, we claim no licence over them, and we cannot use them for any purpose. This is an unusually strong position, and it is a direct consequence of the browser-based architecture rather than a policy choice we could reverse without changing how the product works.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the service for unlawful purposes or to process content you do not have the right to use;
- attempt to overload, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the hosting infrastructure;
- redistribute the AI model weights in a way that violates their upstream licence;
- imply that we endorse, verify, or are affiliated with your output.
5. No warranty on output
Automated background removal is imperfect. Quality varies with lighting, subject, contrast, and image resolution. Fine hair, fur, motion blur, and translucent objects such as glass and veils are known hard cases, and results may be unusable for them. Check the result before relying on it, particularly for commercial or published use. We are not responsible for the consequences of publishing an image whose edges were not checked.
6. Third-party components and licences
The tool uses open-source software and open machine-learning models, each under its own licence. The inference runtime and the site framework are permissively licensed. The bundled background-removal model is IS-Net, shipped in quantized form with weights derived from the Apache-2.0 licensed DIS release. Attribution details are listed in the project repository. If you redistribute a modified version of this tool, you must comply with those licences independently.
7. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service or any feature at any time. Because there is no account, no data to migrate, and no purchase, a change affects only the availability of the tool itself. The promise that images are never uploaded will not be withdrawn retroactively: if a feature that transmits images is ever added, it will be opt-in, clearly labelled, and described in the privacy policy before it ships.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including lost profits, lost listings, or reputational harm. Because the service is free and processes nothing on our infrastructure, our aggregate liability is correspondingly limited.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is established. Replace this paragraph with the specific jurisdiction before publishing, as it is a deployment-specific detail rather than a product decision.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent via the contact page.
